It's not often we get a top DJ giving their time to produce a demonstration of how they set up their gear, so when Space Invader Joachim Garraud sent us this fascinating clip on how to set up the CDJ-2000s and Serato to utilise the HID control, we jumped at the chance.

Joachim walks us through exactly what is required, including updating the firmware on the CDJ-2000 (to version 3.1 or above), the correct version of Serato (2.2) and how to connect everything.

Once set up, you can play off Serato without timecode discs and take advantage of deep integration between the software and hardware including hot cues, browsing and waveform display.
